This is a page for volunteers at the Awakening Mind Community in Mexico to share about their experiences and insights as they spend time doing the deep spiritual work that is pointed to in A Course in Miracles.
Who We Are
We are part of an extended community that has locations all over the world, in Mexico (read A Course in Miracles in Spanish!), Europe, and several places in the USA. We seem to come from different parts of the world, from different walks of life, and from different age groups and ethnicities, but we share One goal: Peace of Mind.
All of us have at some point or other called out for help in our minds and were somehow guided to the teachings of David Hoffmeister and A Course in Miracles. The desire for True Healing is what brings us together. The teachings and clarity of those that have gone before us guide our way to look inwards and uncover and remove the blocks to the awareness of Love’s presence.
We are all mystics at heart with a desire for simplicity; the simplicity of mind that is given through relinquishing the egoic thought system of complexity and by accepting the easy intuitive flow of the Spirit. We are all here to learn and heal together through the symbols offered by the Holy Spirit’s plan of Atonement.
“How simple is salvation! All it says is what was never true is not true now, and never will be. The impossible has not occurred, and can have no effects. And that is all. Can this be hard to learn by anyone who wants it to be true? Only unwillingness to learn it could make such an easy lesson difficult. How hard is it to see that what is false can not be true, and what is true can not be false? You can no longer say that you perceive no differences in false and true. You have been told exactly how to tell one from the other, and just what to do if you become confused. Why, then, do you persist in learning not such simple things?”

We are here only to experience the Love of God, and to learn how to consistently extend the joy of the Kingdom Within.

What We Do
We are a community devoted to One Purpose: Forgiveness. We use the spiritual book A Course in Miracles and the teachings of David Hoffmeister as frameworks to train the mind to experience a consistently peaceful state of mind. This is no small task and is not an undertaking for the undetermined.
“There is no doubt about what your function is, for the Holy Spirit KNOWS what it is. There is no doubt about its magnitude, for it reaches you through Him FROM Magnitude. You do not have to strive for it, because you HAVE it. All your striving must be directed AGAINST littleness, for it DOES require vigilance to protect your magnitude in this world. To hold your magnitude in perfect awareness in a world of littleness is a task the little cannot undertake. Yet it is asked of you, in tribute to your magnitude and NOT your littleness. Nor is it asked of you alone.”
– ACIM, Chapter 15.3 Littleness Vs. Magnitude
In other words, we are a community that supports each other in remembering the Truth of who we are, our Magnitude that is given by God. We use projects such as gardening, cooking, cleaning, transcribing and web work as ways to train the mind to listen to guidance from the Holy Spirit, as backdrops to collaborate and to expose resistance, fears and upsets in the mind.
Miracle Principle 4: All miracles mean life, and God is the giver of life. His voice will direct you very specifically. You will be told all you need to know.
Miracle Principle 7: Miracles are everyone’s right, but purification is necessary first.
We use daily Expression Sessions where any upsetting thoughts or emotions can be released in the presence of Mighty Companions and be given over to the Holy Spirit. We experience a continuous deepening into the presence of God as we clear away the blocks to the awareness of Love. The introduction of A Course in Miracles:
“This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.”
Community
Our spiritual community has been brought together by a devotion to awakening that we feel in our hearts. The direct experience of inner peace and connection with the Spirit is what it’s all about.
David Hoffmeister is the inspiration that has drawn the Awakening Mind community together. His radiant joy and boundless energy is the effect of letting go of the ego and identifying completely with Spirit.
